Vanity Fair at the Table: An Evening at Jane’s Carousel

On Tuesday, July 23, the beautifully restored Jane’s Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park was the setting for Vanity Fair At the Table: An Evening at Jane’s Carousel—the first in a new series of cultural-culinary experiences inspired by the magazine’s founding mission to “ignite a dinner party at 50 yards.” In partnership with the exclusive, members-only supper club Underground Eats, and with support from inaugural sponsors Resource Natural Spring Water and The Patrón Spirits Company, the event evoked the playfulness of warm summer evenings past and the elegant, vibrant “café society” that Vanity Fair spawned in its earliest days. With the twinkling lights of Jane’s Carousel as the backdrop, Underground Eats members and special guests—including Jane and David Walentas—enjoyed inspired cuisine prepared by chef Ryan Tate of Le Restaurant and reimagined summer cocktails by mixologist Kevin Denton of WD-50 and Alder.
